Guitar Hero III, Bee Movie Game and more
When in L.A., you don’t have to go very far to find a few stars. At the Activision press event, the gaming company brought the stars to the press.
Skater Tony Hawk, axemaster Slash and comic legend Stan Lee all made appearances at the event which was hosted by actor Jaime Kennedy. Activision utilised the chair-and-couch talk show approach, making for a very casual-appearing press conference.
Among the games on show were Bee Movie Game (based on the upcoming animated film staring Jerry Seinfeld) and Spider-Man: Friend or Foe (taking a new approach to playing heroes and villains).

In Bee Movie, players will guide the bee who wants to be a “pollen jock” like all the cool bees. The game uses a third-person perspective with the camera directly behind the bee as it flies. Players will use the Wii Remote to move the bee in different directions as it tries to avoid city traffic.
With Spider-Man: Friend or Foe, Activision is putting the focus on younger Spider-Man fans. Co-operative gameplay allows another player to join the game at any time to help a friend in need. This time, Spider-Man is not set in New York. Instead, he travels around the world to square-off against super villains. Once a player defeats a villain in the story mode, the villain becomes playable in battle modes – and can become Spider-Man’s partner.

At the end of the event, Activision showed off their latest Guitar Hero game, which is the first Guitar Hero game available for Wii. The game features online cooperative and competitive modes and a custom wireless guitar controller.
In Guitar Hero III, players will have to test their chops against the toughest monsters of rock around, including Slash from Guns ‘n’ Roses and Velvet Revolver.
